Inner Space Records is an independent record shop in Uppermill, Saddleworth — one of a diminishing number of places where you can still browse physical music in the area. The brief was to develop a visual identity and digital presence that reflected the shop's character: independent, knowledgeable, and unapologetically vinyl-focused.
The identity is built around a simple idea — the record itself. The logo centres the vinyl disc as the primary mark, with typography and colour chosen to feel warm and considered rather than generic. Signal Yellow brings energy without shouting; the near-black and greys keep it grounded.
The website was rebuilt as a clean static HTML/CSS site, recovering the design tokens from the previous WordPress build and giving the shop a faster, more maintainable digital home. Merch followed — a t-shirt and tote bag extending the identity into physical product.
Inner Space Records now has an identity that works as hard as the shop itself — consistent across digital, print and product. A further site update is currently in development.
